MEET MARTIN 

Bio

Martin Fuksa (born 30 April 1993) is a Czech canoeist specialising in the C1 category.

He is a two-time World Champion in the C1 500 metres event and ten-time European Champion in the 500 and 1000 metre events. He was inspired to pick up canoeing by his father, Petr Fuksa (who competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta) and his grandfather Josef Fuksa. Both serve as his coaches.

His younger brother Petr is also following in the family tradition, and the two competed together at the 2019 World Championship in Szeged and have successfully qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in the 1000-metre race in the C2 category.
